General Manager

Dan Keister is the general manager at WHZR Hoosier Country 103.7. He was born
into a family that owned a group of small market newspapers. Dan's father, Dave
Keister, broke ranks and went into the competing business, radio station. He
began his radio career in Washington Court House, Ohio in 1981 as an account
executive for WCHO. Dan then moved to Columbus, Indiana and went to work again
as an account executive at WKKG-FM. He was promoted to Sales manager and
re-located to Bloomington-Normal Illinois to WRXZ. Dan was promoted to General
Manager to run radio station WBWN (same radio station, just changed call
letters). He put the radio station WSNY FM in Bloomington on air as an owner,
but then sold the radio station and took 10 years off to relax. Dan has since
re-located to WHZR Hoosier Country and has added an additional radio station in
Peru, WARU FM-AM in Peru. He is happily married with two children, Derek and Ben
and two grand children, Chloe and Alex Michael. Dan was a former professional
musician and still plays the piano as a hobby on weekends with various bands
around Central Indiana.
